The offset composition adds to a psychological edge in this modern piece. It came quickly and is one of my favorites.

Another study of the bird who perished. I added warm colors to elevate the image.

This tree was a challenge that took me a good month to complete.

This sweet still life is of a bird that hit our window.  I wanted to capture and honor this life through this portrait in grand scale.

This still life with warm watercolor is in the old master style of tromp-l’oei. This is when drawing appears in 3D.

This piece just reminds me of the high deserts of Wyoming that I grew up in. Colors are warm and speak of the Great Plains.

Simple celebration in charcoal of the beauty and sophistication of a wing span.

These 3 panels are of a band of wild horses. First panel is the aggressor biting at another horse.

The middle panel shows the incensed horse in the center turning his back in anger, ears pinned down.

The final panel shows the black horse bewildered and on point ready for anything! Fun triptych to do.

Found this little sprout and fell in love, so a drawing needed to happen.

This is a favorite to date. I chose the warm eggs in this composition with cooler blue branches for contrast.

Antler drawings like this one are some of my favorite studies.  I like the gesture, structure and surface.

I like the contrast of this stark black crow feather on the white ground. Smudging the charcoal adds to the softness.

I love the playfulness of this diptych! This crow is checking out the one below him.

I love how the wood grain plays so smoothly into the subjects! The crow squawking pleases me also!

I took a shot of this great old tree at Coyote Wall outside Bingen, WA.  This area and the trees remind me of Wyoming.
